A friend of mine had a hive of honey bees that swarmed the other day, and I found it fascinating to view the process of getting the “swarm” into a new hive.





Cailfornia Duck Days, a wetlands wildlife festival in the heart of the Pacific Flyway, will be held in Davis on february 20 and 21.




This is the “overflow” at Lake Berryessa in the foothills of central California. We haven’t had much rain recently, and this is the first time I’ve seen it completely exposed!
