Monday, July 28th, 2008Except for my herbs and a lot of foliage, this year’s vegetable garden has not been very productive; however, it is a pleasant spot to sit and do nothing.
Young Swainsons Hawk
Saturday, July 19th, 2008I think that the young Swainsons Hawk may have survived the dreaded Great Horned Owl attack. Here are some photos of an adult ( top) and a young hawk in a another tree close to the nesting tree.
It appears as if the adult has given the young bird a small ground squirrel.

White Barn Update

Hummers in the Indian Tobacco
Wednesday, July 9th, 2008This is a flowering plant that is referred to locally as Indian Tobacco. I have no idea as to its addictive properties, however the the hummingbirds love it.
