Young Swainsons Hawk

I think that the young Swainsons Hawk may have survived the dreaded Great Horned Owl attack. Here are some photos of an adult ( top) and a young hawk in a another tree close to the nesting tree.
It appears as if the adult has given the young bird a small ground squirrel.
