One of the Red Squirrels has found a home in the wall of the “white barn”.

I didn’t have my camera at the ready to capture the intricacies of this maneuver, but it’s quite a feat of acrobatics.

He starts from the roof. Then scaling down the side of the window shutter he stretches precariously toward the hole in the wall; and grabbing what foothold that he can, he pulls himself into the hole. Bravo !!!

Continuing with my survey of old wooden hay barns in Yolo County, California; I fear that many of them are in such a state of disrepair that they will soon be lost to us.
